Artsy community requests evolving web presence

It started with a few folks who had an idea… to bring more of the arts to Steuben County. Not only did this group of community-minded, art-loving folks launch a nonprofit but they launched an artistic movement in their area.

Steuben Arts Scene was born with the mission to not only bring the arts to the folks in Steuben County, but to bring art education and awareness. With art shows, pop galleries, classes and more, Steuben Arts Scene as accomplished a lot for its brief time in existence.

What helped them get there? A lot of hard work and a great website. The trick for Steuben Arts Scene’s website was that it couldn’t be stagnate. It had to be created in such a way that the site could be easily maintained and updated with classes and other events. The other component the group needed was a way to promote and spotlight area artists. We were able to create an online submission tool that allowed artists to submit their info as well as samples of their work.

Next, the nonprofit needed a way to generate revenue. One option came about through a two-tiered patron system established by the nonprofit. All we had to do was create the platform for payment and differentiate between the two levels.

The last piece of the puzzle was to connect the nonprofits site to its email marketing platform. We connected the forms for those interested in being on the email list to an automation that added folks to that list immediately. We also connected the donor and patron forms so that the data was collected there as well. Now the nonprofit can email specific audiences with specific messaging to really leverage the power of the email marketing strategy.

After the site launched, Steuben Arts Scene signed on to have our team maintain the website. That means for a small monthly amount, the nonprofit can have our team add updates, add classes, etc. for them so they can focus on the mission at hand, rather than the website.

“As we were starting out, we had a lot of great ideas for our website. However, as we got going, we realized some of those ideas weren’t necessary at all and some weren’t needed from the start. Christie was always patient with us as we changed our ideas around. She does a great job working to update our site as we need it now. As our nonprofit grows, I know our site will grow along with us.” - Vicki, www.steubenartsscene.org
