Family business upgrades with online store

When Bryce Hill of Hill’s Meat Market contacted our office for a new website, he was motivated to bring his family’s business into a new era. After decades of serving the community with quality meats and market items, it was time for the business to offer a new online presence. In addition to having a new site to showcase the market, Bryce wanted an online way for customers to place orders for the meat department fulfill. Up until then, the market took orders over the phone and in person. While orders are always welcome in person and by phone, having an online option would give customers the convenience to shop on their terms. It would also free up some time in the meat department if not all the orders had to be taken by the staff.

Bryce did have some very specific requests for the online store. He needed an online order form without collecting payment on the site. Since making the jump to the online store was a big one, he thought it might be best to stair step into the online payment piece until he knew that the team was comfortable with the new technology.

In addition, the store has several custom ordering options that determine different pricing for different choices. Our online store needed to accommodate that and adjust the price as needed. Another custom option was a “point ordering system” that allowed customers to “buy” a certain amounts of points and spend them in certain categories.

All of this customization was exciting for our team to tackle. We love a good challenge and in turn, we love happy customers!
