Using your website for online courses

There’s no question about it…. you know things. You’re an expert in your field and have knowledge and know-how that’s valuable in your marketplace. If knowledge is power, then the ability to create and sell online courses is a superpower. Here’s a few perks to having an online course:

  • you’ll leverage your expertise to create “expert-level” authority in your industry

  • courses can create a passive revenue stream for your business. Create it. Launch it. Promote it. The system works over and over again while all you have to do it touch it one time to create it and set it up.

  • courses that are offered for free can be an easy way for you to generate a following, build an email list, or gain trust and credibility with your audience.

  • courses are a great giveaway at events, trade shows, or even at presentations where you’re speaking to a room full of your potential clients.

While all of this sounds good, there are a few hoops to jump through to make online courses work.

  1. You have to create the content - We can’t create the content for you … we can help create the flyers, edit the videos, etc. But we can’t be YOU!

  2. You have to have the technology to host it - the great news is Squarespace (the platform we use to build and host all of our websites) recently rolled out new abilities for us as designers to create member portals and online learning classrooms —- AND MONETIZE THEM either as a one-time payment or a recurring monthly payment.

  3. You have to have an easy delivery system - we can connect your member portal and online classroom to an email sequence that will deliver all the pieces to your subscriber. Plus, we can make it so that those subscribers also flow into your email newsletter list so they can continue to hear from you long after their course is complete.

There’s a lot of fun stuff to do with technology… and online courses is a great option for professionals to serve their audience and boost their revenue.
